The Effects of the Intervention using Smartphone Applications: A Systematic Review

Abstract
|
|
|
Objective : The purpose of this study was to present the effect of intervention using smartphone application.
The results of this study will provide concrete and useful data on the application of the intervention using smartphone application, and will provide basic data on the intervention, analysis of the intervention for further study.
Method : This study was searched form papers published from Jan, 2013 to Dec, 2017 using NDSL, RISS, KISS, DBpia based. Key words using on the search were ’mobile’ or ’smartphone’, ’application’ or ’app’, ’rehabilitation’,’effect’ or ’intervention’
Result : Eleven studies were included in this review. Among the 11 subjects, two were for aphasic, three were for autism spectrum disorder, two were for hearing-impaired, three were for intellectual disabilities, and just one were for stroke. A form of intervention was that non-randomized one group studies were two studies and the other studies were single experimental studies. Effect of intervention using smartphone application had meaningful effect consistent with the hypothesis in 10 subjects. The other study reported that preliminary study for this study could has been confirmed that it can be applied as a treatment tool.
Conclusion : This study provided information on using smartphone application by presenting the usage type and intervention results. This study will be useful as evidence for intervention goals.
